Three new Communities that Work members announced

We are extremely pleased to announce that Coast & Country Housing in North of England, Southern Housing Group in South of England and Tai Calon in South Wales have joined Give Us A Chance.

Kate Shone, Chair said; “We’re thrilled that Southern Housing, Coast and Country and Tai Calon have joined us, all have a focus on improving employment opportunities for their residents and have fantastic and yet quite different experiences that we can all learn from. They are a real asset to the group and I’m pleased to see our membership growing with our first registered provider in Wales too!”

About our new members

Southern Housing Group was established in 1901 and owns and manages more than 28,000 homes in London and the South East of England.

They provide housing for over 67,000 residents and employ around 800 people, offering a range of housing options for rent and home ownership. They are one of the biggest housing associations in the South of England. Read more about the group:

Coast & Country Housing took over the ownership and management of homes from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council as part of a large-scale voluntary stock transfer (LSVT) in July 2002.

They are the largest registered provider in Redcar and Cleveland. They are award-winning in their approach to combatting worklessness, owning and managing more than 10,000 homes. Find out more:

Tai Calon Community Housing is the largest social housing landlord in Blaenau Gwent , Wales. They have more than 6,100 homes across the three valleys, including 11 Supported Living Schemes.

Tai Calon was created in 2010, after tenants of the Council voted in favour of their homes being transferred to the new “not for profit” organisation. They are a community mutual and tenants are at the heart of everything they do. To learn more about Tai Calon visit their website:
