Orbit Group start the year with Communities that Work

Orbit Group, the Coventry-based 39,000-home housing association has become the latest provider to sign up to Communities that Work.

Working with Communities that Work, Orbit will be able to continue its work to create more employment opportunities for social housing customers, and help to tackle issues surrounding long term unemployment within the sector.

Orbit shares the aims of Communities that Work, and is committed to supporting social housing residents into training and employment. Over the past year, the Housing Association has invested in local education and training projects across its communities, and helped to move residents through training and into long-term employment.

Speaking of the new members, Communities that Work Chair Ian Simpson said:

“It’s great to have Orbit on board – their passion, commitment and investment in education and employment will help us to continue to demonstrate the value that Housing Associations have to play in tackling employment related issues facing so many communities today.”
